Check out this gorgeous night scene from our recent trip to Cuba - the varied lights, colors and architecture, and a little kitty - all was so visually stunning.
In Cuba, restaurants are called "paladares". As we finished our meal at one, we passed another one, graciously awaiting its next guests.
Motorcycle on the Malecon
Cubans love to hang out on the Malecon, where sometimes waves crash over them and their cars and motorcycles. This was a late evening sunset in the distance, with people already beginning their strolling.
Havana is well-known for its antique car taxis - all of which are kept up very well, considering their issues with imports.
Havana Blue Car
I just love the looks of these! And love the way the Cubans flirt :).
Cuban Red Truck
Everywhere you went, old trucks, station wagons, cars. But I really love old trucks, so this one needed a special viewing here!
As we entered Casa Milagris for our wonderful dinner and serenading by a Latin dance group, we were greeted by their resident cat, peeking through the rails.
One of the most interesting things to observe was how gentle and compassionate the people of Havana are to the animals on the street. This little guy followed us for awhile and seemed very content. I must admit, I wish I could have taken him home with us!
Ah, stunning designs everywhere you look - even when entering a building for dinner one evening. This pairs was just sitting there, gracing the welcome.
These are cutting boards that I have collected on my travels. The beautiful blessing was a housewarming gift from a dear friend (that my friend used in her own, former homes and graciously gave to me at our home blessing).
Oh wow. I was sitting in the lounge chair, left my hat, got up to get a pina colada, and as I walked back, the storm clouds were gathering in the background. The "calm before the storm"!
Nothing better. Relaxing on the beach in beautiful Ambergris Caye with a Belikin beer.
Belize Beach Boat
Long ago, I passed this scene and was struck at how much like a painting it looked. This is an old photograph, taken with a 35mm fil camera!
These are outside of Aspen, CO, where we went for a fabulous Canon Live Learning workshop with professional photographer, Tyler Stableford. What a wonderful expert from whom to learn so much!
Aspen Trees, Majestic
There truly is something about the aspen trees. As we lay down on our backs and looked up, you felt it. This view says it all....
Nova Scotia Sailboat
This was taken in Lunenburg, a gorgeous little harbor in Nova Scotia.
Different view of the Harbor in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Love the pink buoys!
Lobster Traps at Rest
In the Harbor at Peggys Cove, Nova Scotia - a rickety display of lobster traps!
Sunrise at Peggys Cove
What a lovely splay of clouds against the Lighthouse at Peggys Cove, Nova Scotia.
Red Light Lighthouse
Peggy's Cove Lighthouse in black and white, except for its red light.
Peggy's Cove Church
Stunning light from the sunrise at Peggy's Cove on this little Church.
Seagull at Sunset
The colors on the water at Lunenburg harbor were stunning, and the seagull just lends a certain simple serenity to it all.
This seagull dipped its head into its body at just the right moment. And the colors are stunning. From Lunenburg, Nova Scotia
French Quarter breeze
In a walk through the French Quarter one breezy day, I looked up just in time to see this curtain sway out of its window. Love the movement and colors!
Walking through a Tuscan hillside town, I was struck at the interplay of color, texture, light and shadow at every turn. This is one of many - and all are truly beautiful.
Tuscany Cypress Trees
We were driving along the Tuscan countryside, and I reached my camera out of the car window and snapped this photograph. It almost looks fake - but it wasn't!
Mt. Vesuvius View
Taken many years ago, a peaceful scene in Sorrento, Italy, with the harbor overlooking a foggy Mt. Vesuvius
Sorrento Lemon Tree
Taken from a lovely beach-side restaurant in Sorrento, Italy, overlooking Mt. Vesuvius as well. Molto bello!!
A lovely scene in Tuscany, Italy.
Tuscan Bell Towers
Travels throughout Tuscany brought such lovely sites a lot.
This is a colorized black and white of a scene on a typical Roman bridge crossing. Stunning art and architecture everywhere you turn!
The streets of Florence are stunning at sunset, especially around the Arno River. I actually stripped out some of the color to highlight the lovely sunset reflections
A spectacular day in September in Wyoming.
I passed this old barn as I was driving to Jackson Hole - what a great sight with the trees!
Yellowstone Dead Trees
These trees, rising from the geyser run-off, with a mist from the geysers - what a sight in Yellowstone Park!
Yellowstone Dead Trees2
Yet another aspect of this sight, which changed by the seconds.
San Francisco Harbor 1999
A trip with our daughters - gorgeous but cold in November 1999!
