Whispering Pine Trees
Long ago, the northshore (where I live) used to have millions of these where local legend held that they helped to cure respiratory illnesses. Thanks to hurricanes, pine beetles, and fearful logging of them, few remain. And the legend goes with them. Yet the ones that do remain are still stately and beautiful.
Trees at sunset
The view from our front door, with a sliver moon in the distance.
Without trees, there is nowhere to enjoy your dinner. How about that for a view of sunset?!?
Gently swaying in the breeze, with a tiny bud of lily getting ready to bust open.
The Howling Tree
Looks like it has a face.
Can you see it in the tree, cradling this large owl?
Snag Tree Woodpeckers
These dead trees show how much life is in them! A pair of nesting red-headed woodpeckers (both male and female have the same coloring).
From Sorrento, a beautiful seaside town in southern Italy.
Taken on a trip through Italy, I saw this scene and snapped from the car window. What luck!
Gotta love Belize - what beauty. This tree has been there since we’ve been going - over 20 years.
A gorgeous flame of yellow among the grey.
How can you resist this beauty?!?
Driving along a country road in Maine.
Grand Canyon Tree
There is so much to see in the Grand Canyon. It was nice to take a rest by a tree (if not under one).
Portland Sunset Tree
A beautiful bench to watch the sunset (and shade in summer!) over Casco Bay in Portland, Maine.
