This is how people crab on the bayous.
All kinds of boats are used to fish on the bayou.
Fishing occurs in many places! Fishing in Kona, Hawaii, in the rain.
Great Blue Heron by Bench
This big guy sat the entire time we cruised by. I think he liked having his photograph taken!
Bayou Sunrise with Pelicans
I have this one blown up in my home. The light, the colors, the scene were all so magical that particular winter day. I hope you enjoy it too!
An old dock, from the 1990’s, taken away by Hurricane Katrina.
This menacing creature swam right up to our dock as we were having our home christening. Truly scary looking.
They just look scary
And this water is full of alligators!
"Keep Out" Kingfisher
Since kingfishers are notoriously shy, I thought its sitting on this sign was hilariously apropos!
Please note that this was taken with my iPhone, so it likely would not enlarge well. But I was biking, and it was so beautiful, I just had to share it!
Blue Dock Chair
This is another shot of this same scene, just a different time of year and set-up.
Crab Traps Dock
We passed these by one day, and they are so quintessential coastal Louisiana. The color has been taken out of it and then a little added back in. I love the effect!
Bird on City Skyline
A bright day with a stretching bird on a buoy with New Orleans skyline in the background.
